Pay-per-letter, translation fees, romance tours… classic Ukrainian bride industry. If you’ve used a Ukrainian marriage agency or tour, was it worth it, or would you tell guys to stick to normal dating apps instead?

I tried one agency years ago and felt like I was speed dating with a price tag. Some women were nice, but the whole setup was built to keep me paying, not to help anyone actually pair up.

The pay per letter system is the biggest red flag for me. If she “can’t” talk outside the platform, I assume she’s earning from the chats and not actually interested in a real relationship.

I know one guy who did find a wife through a tour, but he also treated it like a serious investment and did tons of homework on the company. For most people, apps are a better first step.

Agencies can work, but don’t outsource your common sense. If something feels staged or rushed, step back. You don’t need a company to create pressure for you to “pick someone.”

Personally I prefer meeting women on regular apps or in real life when traveling. Less polished, more real, and no one’s meter is running in the background.

I used one. Paid a lot. The women existed, the meetings happened, but the entire structure was built to extend your time on the platform, not to actually connect you. Every positive step cost money. I eventually met someone through a completely normal route and it cost me almost nothing.

The romance tour model is interesting because you do meet a lot of women fast. But the format is artificial — speed dating in a hotel with an interpreter. You can’t tell who’s genuinely interested vs who showed up for a free dinner and the chance to practice English. I met exactly zero serious prospects this way.
