How quietly strong they are. Vietnamese women have been through a lot — as a country, as a culture — and it shows in a kind of resilience that I found very attractive. Not hardness. Just substance. My girlfriend has more quiet determination than anyone I’ve ever dated.

Also, looks and grooming mattered a lot. Showing up sloppy was not acceptable, even for “casual” dates. Once I adjusted, I actually liked the standard it set for both of us.
